Outpatient Mental Health Therapist in Racine WI

Job Description

Provide individual, couples, family and group therapy to children, adolescents and adults. Family Service of Racine therapists carry out all phases of psychotherapy including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, reviewing client progress at Clinical Collaboration meetings and discharging clients when clinically appropriate.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain the highest quality of psychotherapy standards and compliance with State of Wisconsin requirements for Outpatient Mental Health Clinics.
  • Review each client’s goals at least every 90 days.
  • Attends all Clinical Collaboration meetings.
  • Conduct a standard “45-minute hour,” with the remaining 15 minutes used for documentation.
  • Maintain current Wisconsin state clinical licensure and provider status with insurance providers including regular and timely submission of credentialing material.
  • Offer 5-25 client appointments each week, including at least 1 evening per week.
  • Maintain continuing education as required by licensure or certification.
  • Maintain client files according to compliance with case record procedures.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA, DQA, Federal and State regulations and standards pertaining to the provision of Psychotherapy in the State of Wisconsin.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited university or college.
  • Current state of Wisconsin licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist and adherence to a related established Code of Ethics, such as the Social Work Code of Ethics. APSWs, LPC-ITs and MFT-ITs also welcome to apply.
  • Advanced knowledge of psychotherapy theories and treatment modalities plus the ability to apply this knowledge to a diverse caseload.
  • Ability to develop effective therapeutic relationships with clients, diagnosis clients according to DSM-V standards and apply appropriate treatment interventions in a non-judgmental, strengths-based approach.
  • Willingness to work in a team setting.
  • Competency in verbal and written communication.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Door County Medical Center

Door County Medical Center, a critical access facility in northeast Wisconsin, has served the health care needs of the Sturgeon Bay/Door County area since 1943. The medical center offers a full range of acute care services and specialties, as well as a skilled nursing facility for long-term care and rehabilitation services. Key services and facilities include clinic services, cardiac rehabilitation, a cancer/radiation oncology treatment center, comprehensive diagnostics, physical, occupational and speech therapy centers, respiratory care/rehab/sleep disorders center, a new outpatient surgical center, emergency/urgent care services and new units for medical/surgical care, ICU and the birthing center.

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides therapy for individuals experiencing mental health disorders consistent with diagnoses listed in the most current DSM.  Services may be provided in the main clinic and the school branch office in context of individual, couples, group or family interactions based on the assessment of patient needs.  Generally services are by appointment but emergency triaging and disposition is provided as necessary.  The therapist adheres to the highest standard of ethical behavior and patient confidentiality.  During the course of treatment planning and coordination, the therapist may interact with one or more community agencies, law enforcement organization, and other health care professionals.  Maintenance of patient records including timely and accurate documentation of all services rendered is required. Participation in clinical collaboration is mandated by state administrative rule.

Education Required: Master’s degree in Social Work is required. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin is required.

Related Years of Experience Required: Completion of 3,000 hours post graduate degree in supervised clinical services and certified/licensed in the state of Wisconsin required.

-Completion of 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience in direct psychotherapeutic services to individual, families, couples and groups. Training and experience with children and family systems is preferred.

-Capable of working 8 plus consecutive hours, demonstrate ability to function under stress and rapidly changing conditions. Demonstrates the ability to perform triaging and crisis intervention.

Credential/Licensure Required: Clinical Social Work license, Driver’s license, CPR.

Shift: Working 40 hours a week.
