To register click Here Session 3 - Professional Ethics and Boundaries for the Experienced Social Work PractitionerPresenter: Nicholas Smiar, CISW, ACSW, PhD June 20, 2008, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Road, Waukesha This workshop for experienced social workers focuses on the complex and troubling ethical dilemmas which arise in social work practice and require critical thinking and the application of knowledge and skills in ethical decision making. After a brief introduction to the meaning and functions of professional ethics and the distinction between law/regulation and ethics, we will employ scenarios drawn from actual practice experiences, using discussions in small groups and analysis in the larger group. A familiarity with the NASW Code of Ethics and MPSW 20 and prior experiences in continuing education in ethics are assumed.
